New executive director of Tri-agency Institutional Programs Secretariat


The Tri-agency Institutional Programs Secretariat welcomes Danika Goosney as its executive director.

Goosney comes to the Secretariat from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), where she served as director general, Science, Knowledge Translation and Ethics. A member of the CIHR executive team since 2008, she has led several key files in the areas of science policy, knowledge translation and ethics.

Goosney completed her PhD at The University of British Columbia in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology and the Biotechnology Laboratory (now the Michael Smith Laboratories). She has earned several awards for her research, including the Governor General's Gold Medal and the Cangene Gold Medal for Canadian Graduate Student Microbiologist of the Year.
