Research summary
We live in a rapidly changing and inequitable world. Our health is often affected by interconnected social and ecological challenges, such as resource extraction, biodiversity loss and climate change.
As Canada Research Chair in Social-Ecological Health, Dr. Lindsay Galway is studying the social-ecological aspects of health. She and her research team are trying to identify how we can respond to climatic and environmental change in our communities to promote sustainability, health and social justice for all. Their findings will contribute to an important and emerging field of science called planetary health, which focuses on the human health costs of the degradation of our natural environment.
