Having a critically ill or seriously injured child is devastating for a family. As Canada Research Chair in Life Sciences Related to Human Health and Disease, Dr. Terry Klassen is working to improve health outcomes for these children.
Klassen and his research team are investigating the efficiencies and effectiveness of adaptive methodologies in randomized controlled trials (RCTs). They are developing an implementation laboratory to use cluster RCTs to test the effectiveness of knowledge translation tools (resources and products that facilitate shared decision-making between patients and clinicians). Their research will help overcome barriers in child health research and generate high-quality evidence to inform policy and practice.
