Promoting social and health equity among young people is essential to making cities and communities more sustainable. As Canada Research Chair in Urban Health Equity and Young People, Dr. Martine Shareck is creating the knowledge needed to help reduce inequalities among young people.
Shareck and her research team are assessing the mechanisms that link urban environmental features, social determinants of health, and health outcomes among young people. They are also evaluating innovative interventions to better understand what works to reduce social inequalities in health—and how and for whom.
