Research summary

Fluid mechanics is the study of fluids at rest and in motion. Its knowledge is useful in a wide range of disciplines, from mechanical and civil engineering to biomedical engineering and astrophysics.

Using an interdisciplinary research approach, Dr. Seyed Mohammad Taghavi, Canada Research Chair in Modelling Complex Flows, aims to provide advanced fluid flow models combined with novel laboratory experiments to support the design and optimization of key Canadian industrial processes where fluid mechanics issues are critical. Modelling complex flows is an expanding research area, with demand for skills and expertise increasing steadily.
