Quality primary care is key to effective, efficient and equitable health systems. Dr. Miriam Ruth Lavergne, Canada Research Chair in Primary Care, aims to strengthen primary care and make access to it more equitable to all.
Lavergne and her research team are analyzing data that are routinely collected when health care is delivered to better understand how people access care and the impact of policy changes. They are partnering with researchers who have complementary skills and collecting information through interviews and focus groups with patients, care providers and people who plan health services. They are including these groups to ensure they ask questions that matter, and that their research results will lead to better health care systems.
