Research summary

The Internet of Things (IoT) is vital in our daily lives and work. Its real-time data and automation capabilities are driving efficiency and innovation and transforming the way we live. However, because IoT networks can connect a variety of devices that have diverse quality and service requirements, current resource management and security solutions are inadequate. A profound shift is needed to seamlessly integrate advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), digital twins (virtual replicas of physical objects or systems), and semantic communications (transmissions of data with a focus on meaning and context).

As Canada Research Chair in Unlocking the Power of IoT 6G Networks, Dr. Georges Kaddoum aims to create a foundation for highly autonomous, secure and cognitive IoT systems. He and his team are contributing to the evolution of IoT ecosystems and the realization of a seamlessly connected, highly intelligent future and more secure world.
