Research summary

Our economy and society are becoming more technologically advanced thanks to the rapid evolution of wireless networks. These computer networks allow devices to stay connected while untethered to any cables. The next generation of wireless networks—5G and beyond—could provide ubiquitous connectivity.

As Canada Research Chair in Ubiquitous Connectivity, Dr. Octavia Dobre is advancing ubiquitous connectivity by integrating terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks along with other technologies. By focusing on advancing this key research area nationally and internationally, she and her research team aim to strengthen research capacity, develop industry collaborations, and contribute to the training of highly qualified personnel.
