Research summary

Computer networks play a critical role in our modern world. How we work, bank, shop, learn, access media and interact with each other largely relies on these networks. As a result, we need modern computer networks that operate in a robust, reliable and efficient manner. As Canada Research Chair in Minimizing Human Error in Operating Modern Networks, Dr. Mina Tahmasbi Arashloo aims to provide network engineers and operators with much-needed assistance in detecting and preventing errors in these networks.

She and her research team are working on mathematical models and scalable analysis techniques for modern computer networks as well as developing network programming platforms for generating correct, e?cient implementations. They are also designing real-time monitoring platforms for network-wide properties. Their research could help prevent human error in programming and configuring network components and minimize the impact of overlooked errors by detecting and reporting problems in real time.
