Research summary

Dr. Shijing Xu, Canada Research Chair in International and Intercultural Reciprocal Learning in Education, has been comparing Chinese and Canadian teaching methods and educational systems to explore how teachers can learn from each other. By 2019, 233 students from Southwest University in Chongqing, China and 100 students from the University of Windsor had participated in the joint Reciprocal Learning Program.

Xu’s renewed CRC program will expand its work in China to other cultures. The overall goal is to foster intercultural reciprocal learning in education among nations and cultures through international, interdisciplinary and inter-ethnic community collaborations in Canada and abroad.
