Research summary


Dr. Kirsten Greer’s research is on reparative environmental histories and legacies of the global North Atlantic region. This involves interdisciplinary research, graduate training, and teaching on past environments from the humanities and geophysical sciences perspectives in relationship with Indigenous communities. Dr. Greer’s research addresses reparations from Northern Ontario to the Caribbean through interdisciplinary, integrative, and engaged (community-based) scholarship in global environmental change research. The research emphasizes applied research for land claims, reparations, repatriations, and cultural revitalization as part of the histories and legacies of the global North Atlantic.
