Putting Our Heads Together to Help Transform Frontline Services

The importance of frontline services in health systems is widely recognized. As the system’s gateway, these systems play a strategic coordination role that has a domino effect on all the other various components. Dr. Mylaine Breton, Canada Research Chair in Clinical Governance on Primary Health Care, is seeking to better understand the organizational innovations that promise to make frontline services more accessible and sustainable.

Breton cooperate closely with managers and clinicians. Her goal is to support their decision-making by helping to advance the state of knowledge with a view to fostering frontline service transformations.

Breton cooperate closely with managers and clinicians. Her goal is to support their decision-making by helping to advance the state of knowledge with a view to fostering frontline service transformations.

Breton and her research team hope to improve managerial and professional practices by introducing regular practices with the key actors involved in designing and implementing promising innovations in frontline services. For example, they are interested in setting up centralized access points in seven Canadian provinces for individuals who are not affiliated with a frontline professional. Their work will also analyze the implementation of adapted access within medical clinics. This innovation seeks to ensure that users can access the frontline services they need in a timely fashion.
