Research summary

As Canada Research Chair in Queer, Community, and Diversity Education, Dr. Robert Mizzi will research various anti-homophobic/transphobic educational interventions and determine how effective they are on policy development and social cohesion. His research will assess how organizational designs can foster dialogue about homophobia/transphobia and other forms of oppression; ascertain how community education can positively shape organizational policies involving LGBTQ2+ and intersectional inclusivity; and determine how staff behaviours change when gender-sexuality alliances are present in workplaces.

The findings that Mizzi’s team provides will change the way we engage educational interventions around LGBTQ2+ inclusion, and ultimately lead to more safe, diverse, and productive work and learning environments.
