Renewable energy and related new technologies are growing rapidly worldwide, and have the potential to help the world transition to less emissions-intensive energy sources. But significant barriers and challenges still limit their full potential.
Dr. David Brown, Canada Research Chair in Energy Economics and Policy, is exploring how we can increase the use of these technologies in the electric power sector. He and his research team are analyzing policies that aim to break down the barriers that prevent us from adopting these resources more quickly. They are collaborating with national and international stakeholders and the public education sector to make sure their findings are widely understood. Ultimately, their work may inform public policy.
