In the fight against climate change, many are pinning their hopes today on urban action. Dr. Sophie Van Neste, Canada Research Chair in Urban Climate Action, is analyzing climate change action in four urban regions of North America.
Her initial area of research involves pilot projects undertaken in co-operation with various contributors. Despite the proliferation of such initiatives, daunting challenges remain. Van Neste and her team are also examining inertia in infrastructure transformation and suburban development. The final focus of their research will be the links between emotions and actions in relation to climate change.
