Research summary

Neurodegenerative disease, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, affect hundreds of thousands of Canadians and are a global health challenge. Dr. Isabelle Aubert, Canada Research Chair in Brain Repair and Regeneration, is trying to develop transformational treatments for Alzheimer’s disease. She is also advancing regenerative therapies for other neurodegenerative disorders and implementing these treatments in patients.

She and her research team are using innovative strategies that combine immunotherapy, gene therapy and MRI-guided ultrasound technology. With these transformative approaches, a single non-invasive treatment can lead to health benefits that last a lifetime. This research has the potential to tackle a broad spectrum of neurological and neurodegenerative disorders.
