It is important to note that the two-week extension to submit letters of reference does not apply for foreign nominations submitted through the “open” submission process. In other words, the Tri-agency Institutional Programs Secretariat must receive the letters while the nominee is still eligible for this process.
The “open” submission process is available for nominating foreign researchers who are employed outside of Canada at the time of submission. This means that these foreign nominations are not subject to the set
nomination deadlines, and are accepted at any time during the year.
