Changes to Canada Research Chairs nomination instructions and recruitment guidelines

Please note that changes related to career interruptions have been made to the CV and Tier 2 justification instructions, as well as the guidelines for ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment and nomination process.

  • CV length extension provisions have been provided for individuals who have career interruptions. Refer to the “CV Length Extension Provision” section on page 7 of the CV Preview Form for further details.
  • Full nomination packages submitted in conjunction with (or following the approval of) a Tier 2 justification must include a version of the candidate’s CV listing research contributions and sources of research support over the last five years, but may be extended to accommodate career interruptions. Refer to the “CV Length Extension Provision” section on page 7 of the CV Preview Form for further details.
  • To ensure that individuals with career interruptions are not unfairly disadvantaged, institutions are expected to have safeguards in place within their recruitment and nomination processes. Refer to the Career Interruptions section of the Guidelines for ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment and nomination process page for more details.
