Research summary

Eliminating disease is a key global health goal. But how to achieve it remains an open question. As Canada Research Chair in Population Health Modeling, Dr. Mathieu Maheu-Giroux hopes to use mathematical modeling (through computer simulations of epidemics) to answer it.

Maheu-Giroux and his research team are developing models that benchmark and examine how different health care delivery approaches can achieve elimination targets. Their innovative, internationally collaborative research—based on best practices, robust data and state-of-the-art methods—will provide evidence for decisions that must be made today to eliminate disease among vulnerable populations in Canada and globally.
