Research summary

Function spaces are an active area of mathematics. They encompass the major components of harmonic and functional analysis, operator algebras, approximation theory, several complex variables, and real algebraic geometry. They also provide the foundations for many areas of applied sciences, such as system theory, signal and image processing, telecommunications and modern control theory.

With a broad, multi-disciplinary research program focusing on function spaces and their operators, Dr. Javad Mashreghi, Canada Research Chair in Function Spaces, Theory and Applications, is developing foundational mathematical theories and tackling major and challenging open problems. Ultimately, he and his research team aim to develop new technologies in engineering.
